We’re officially no-clipping to Philly. 🦅🔥 In 2027, our family will be joining the Eagles organization and thousands of others for the Eagles Autism Challenge 5K as **TWN Flames: The Kaiju Special**. This one is deeply personal for us. Our oldest son, Michael, is funny, analytical, wildly curious and gloriously committed to whatever world currently has his attention. These days, that means Godzilla, kaijus and the Backrooms. When Mikey loves something, he doesn’t dabble—he goes all in. Honestly, we could all learn something from that. He is growing, learning and thriving as an autistic kid—and we want to help build a world that understands, supports and celebrates minds like his. The Eagles Autism Challenge raises money for innovative autism research and care programs. Every dollar raised by participants goes directly to the Eagles Autism Foundation, helping support work that can make a meaningful difference for autistic people and their families—not only in Philadelphia, but around the world. We know food. We know chaos. And we know what can happen when a community rallies around something that matters. That brings us to: The Kaiju Special. Our Side Piece—TWN Flames’ pork katsu sandwich—is getting a monster-sized new identity for the mission. Mikey already calls it “the Zilla,” so apparently he was developing the campaign before the rest of us caught up. Our family has set a fundraising goal of $5,000, and $1 from every Kaiju Special sold will go directly toward that goal. Through the sandwich, future fundraising adventures and the support of our incredible community, we’ll be using our truck and our food to help carry this team all the way to Philly. We would be honored to have you join us—whether that means heading to Philly with us in April, donating, sharing our story, supporting one of our fundraisers or eating a Kaiju Special in Mikey’s name.
